I took all three of these pictures on New Year’s Day. The first two are wild cats my wife and I spotted on the walk from our apartment to her parents’ house. The third is one of ours, Momo.
I am a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University specializing in modern Japanese literature. I came to Japan as a Fulbright Graduate Research Fellow in 2008, and am currently writing a dissertation on late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century historiography, popular historical consciousness, and historical fiction. My local affiliation is with Waseda University.
