anas crecca コガモ 小鴨

This is a rather poor photo of some common teal (コガモ), which spend a part of each winter in Japan. I first noticed them in the river down the street about a month ago. They’re a skittish bunch, and can therefore only be appreciated from a distance. I am glad they’re here, nonetheless.
